LUZ BLUES GUESTHOUSE INVITES YOU TO MOUNTAIN BLISS!
Some say we live at the edge of the world. We prefer to smile and call it the very beginning. Luz Blues is a truly special place in every sense of the word. The house is located by the Wild Orlica River, right next to the Czech border. It was originally meant to be a place for family and friends to gather. After twelve years of renovation, the original idea evolved and in 2017 Luz Blues Guesthouse was born. Its unique character stems from the preservation of traditional Sudeten architecture paired with a creative and imaginative interior design. We constantly improve and refine the guesthouse space, guided by the principles of upcycling, zero waste, and living in harmony with the surrounding nature.
In the summer, you can relax and unwind on beach hammocks during the day and cool off in the Wild Orlica River. In the evenings, enjoy stargazing and watching shooting stars. If you prefer a more active stay, the nearby hiking and biking trails of the Bystrzyckie and Orlické Mountains will treat you to extraordinary experiences and breathtaking views. The surrounding forests are perfect for mushroom picking and admiring the autumn colors of beeches and maples. In winter, nearby ski slopes on both the Polish and Czech sides will delight winter sports enthusiasts.
The changing seasons set the rhythm here. In the summer, most of our vegetables and herbs come from our ever-expanding garden. We don’t use chemical fertilizers or pesticides, which has a direct and positive impact on the food we serve. Signature dishes such as our legendary shakshouka, Niemojów-style fish and chips or grilled aubergines with goat cheese, walnuts and roasted potatoes are just a few of the culinary delights prepared by Tomek. His cooking talent has been featured in National Geographic Traveler and on Wrocław’s Radio RAM. With over 20 years of experience as a head chef in London, Tomek continues to develop and experiment with unique and refined fusion flavors, which you can enjoy during your stay at Luz Blues.
The guesthouse consists of two spacious apartments and seven double rooms with private bathrooms. Each room has its unique name and character. In total we offer accommodation for 24 guests, with the option of extra beds. You’ll also have access to a large, cozy lounge/dining room with a fireplace, a glass-enclosed conservatory overlooking the garden and a playroom for children. The eclectic look of Luz Blues has evolved over the years thanks to the creativity and contributions of many of our friends and close family. We continually beautify the guesthouse space by refurbishing old furniture and creatively reusing available materials. Designing the unique atmosphere and individual character of the interiors is Wiktoria’s passion. As a trained set designer and photographer, she brings her creative skills to every corner of Luz Blues.
Luz Blues is also our home. We not only work here—we live here with Tomek’s son, Casper. Our family includes dogs Panda, Daktyl, Phoebe and cats Aura, Kika, and Lucek as well as peacocks and hens. Far from the urban hustle, without TV, with the nearest shop 12 km away and sometimes without mobile signal—yet all of this is compensated by the peace and charm of the magical Wild Orlica Valley, where we warmly invite you to stay.
